We have five golden rules which we think help make Bath:Hacked such a success – here they are!
We are working on establishing ourselves as a Social Enterprise. As we’ve been going through this process and over the last 18 months of operating, we’ve found it really helpful to have a set of core mantras for the organisation and its members. These define the flavour of Bath:Hacked.
Our strap-line is: To liberate B&NES data, and make useful things
1. Be useful
Focus every effort on the cause of openness and being of value to the community in which we live.
2. Be Open
We are committed to the principles of openness. Our door is firmly open to all, regardless of knowledge or background. We will never discriminate.
3. Share knowledge
Be generous in teaching those who know less, and eager to learn from those who know more.
4. Champion privacy
Our activities will not harm the freedoms and lawful rights of the individual.
5. Park politics
We believe only in the above; political ideology, personal beliefs or self-interest stay strictly outside.
